Our Camp Speaker- Daniel Ward
Daniel Ward is the Associate Pastor at Impact Church in Wilmington, NC. He grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina where as a senior in high school, God began to call him to full-time ministry to students for Christ. Since then, God has allowed him to serve in full-time ministry, specifically to middle and high school students, for 14 years. His experiences with preaching include: youth pastor weekly teaching, small group bible studies, retreats, camps, high school chaplaincy and other opportunities.
He utilizes his sense of humor, enthusiasm, and personal experiences in a way that draws audiences to connect with the life-changing truth of God’s Word. He is passionate about creatively teaching the Word in a way that students can walk away with real life application. He is currently working to a complete his Master’s through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jessica, have three sons, Joshua (12), Caleb (8), and Jackson (5). Verse of the Month

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty, and preservers, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing." (James 1:22-25, ESV).

James is warning us to not take God's Word lightly or casually. Don't rush through God's Word when reading it. If we do, His Word will not lead us to action as it should. But when we take our time with God's Word, we see the fullness of how God is leading in our lives. We understand how we are to act and what we are to do. In fact, when we take our time with God's Word, we are left with a burning desire to act, to do things for His glory.

That's one of the things I've noticed in the last five years here. There are many people in the Association who have taken more time in God's Word and are gleaning an understanding of what God has for them to do. These people are now reaching out to minister to others in various ways--witnessing, encouraging, praying with, even taking care of a physical need in order to open the door to take care of a spiritual need. And in doing, they have been blessed. Some have even told me that their blessings are a greater experience than any other thrill they've had in life.

Let's commit together today to spend more time in God's Word. Let's understand what our purpose is in life for His glory and in our "doing." And may God pour His blessing from heaven onto you in your faithfulness to Him.
